Blacklist International announced its return to its old stomping grounds, sweeping Brazil’s RRQ Akira 2-0 to open the M5 World Championships on a high note on Sunday, Dec. 3, at the EVM Convention Center in Quezon City.

The Codebreakers, who became the only Filipino team in Mobile Legends history to appear in three straight M-series worlds, rode on a strong series opener to set the tone for the rout and go 1-0 in the group stage of the global showpiece.
Blacklist was dominant right off the gates, securing the important objectives while also emerging victorious in several skirmishes around the map.
World championships veteran Edward “Edward” Dapadap led the charge for the hometown bets after finishing with a 5-0-3 KDA on his Edith highlighted by its 100-percent kill participation after Blacklist drew first blood in the series in just 11 minutes with an 8-1 tally.
The romp, however, didn’t come without a scare as RRQ held its ground in Game 2 in hopes of dragging the contest to a winner-take-all Game 3. The second match was a grueling one after the Brazilian representatives dictated the early game with three turtles secured.
There was simply no jitters or whatsoever for Blacklist’s world championship first timers Renejay “RENEJAY” Barcase and Stephen “Sensui” Castillo who filled in to the roles of the Codebreakers dynamic duo in Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario.
With Blacklist playing in the world stage without the two icons for the first time, RENEJAY and Sensui made sure to step up with the latter securing a 24-minute Luminous Lord during a messy team fight which proved to be the dagger to the hearts of the hard-fighting visitors.
RENEJAY shone on his Estes with a 1-0-6 KDA while Sensui added a 1-2-4 line on the jungle Baxa pick.
