Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city government will strictly implement City Ordinance No.6011, Series of 2019 which regulates the sale, distribution, use, and display of firecrackers and pyrotechnic device to prevent injuries, deaths and damage to properties during the New Year. celebrations.
Rubiano said the city government will not allow the manufacture of any kind or type of firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices in the city.
She said the types firecrackers and pyrotechnics devices authorized to be sold, distributed, and used in the city to the exclusion and and confiscation of others are the following: baby rocket; bawang; small triangulo, pulling of strings; paper caps; el Diablo; judah’s belt and sky rocket or kwitis.
Also allowed are mabuhay; roman candle; trompillo, whistle device, butterfly; fountain; jumbo regular; luces, sparklers and all kinds of pyrotechnic devices or “pailaw.”
Rubiano ordered all barangay chairmen to designate an area where firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices may be used subject to the prior approval of the Pasay City Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP).
She said clearance must be secured to conduct fireworks or pyrotechnic exhibitions from the city Fire Marshall.
The pyrotechnic exhibition must be fired at a distance of 100 feet away from the people; shall be projected upwards; that a responsible person of at least 21 years old and with adequate knowledge of handling fireworks or pyrotechnic be assigned to supervise the display; and sufficient approved type of first aid and fire protection equipment shall be on hand at the site.
