The Cool Smashers seek an impressive ninth straight triumph when they clash with the Chery Tiggo Crossovers at 6 p.m. while the Flying Titans also shoot for the same ninth consecutive win in their 4 p.m. tussle against lowly Gerflor Defenders.

A victory for Creamline would solidify its hold for the top spot heading into the semifinals, but fellow semifinalist Chery Tiggo is also on a roll, having won its last six games to trail just half a game behind the Cool Smashers with an 8-1 win-loss record.

With Choco Mucho also in the Final Four, the battle for the last spot is being disputed by Cignal (7-3), Petro Gazz (6-4) and PLDT (5-4). But the HD Spikers have the inside track with the winless Gerflor Defenders as their final elims opponent on Dec. 5.

But a reversal could lead to a scramble with PLDT and Petro Gazz set to knock each other out, also on Dec. 5.

Creamline still has its guard up despite its unbeaten record, especially against a team also eager to keep its own momentum going.

“Madami pa ring lapses and we have to work harder on our training,” said Cool Smashers skipper Alyssa Valdez.

The power trio of Michele Gumabao, Tots Carlos and Jema Galanza is expected to provide consistency for the crew, while boasting of a deep bench spearheaded by Bernadeth Pons and Jeanette Panaga.

Chery Tiggo, meanwhile, learned its lesson well the last time after crawling back from a 2-1 set deficit to survive F2 Logistics, 27-25, 11-25, 17-25, 25-22, 15-10, over the weekend.

The Crossovers are expected to go full throttle with its own lethal weapons in Mylene Paat, and sisters Eya and EJ Laure along with Ces Robles and Ponggay Gaston.

Like Creamline and Chery Tiggo, Choco Mucho is also not taking its rival lightly despite Gerflor residing at the cellar with a 0-8 mark.

Though already out of contention, the Defenders are determined to break their losing spells especially with their morale getting a big boost after their off-court problems have been settled.

Meanwhile, Farm Fresh (1-8) and Galeries Tower (0-8) raise the curtain when they collide at 2 p.m.
