"The PYDP 2023-2028 is not just a plan; it is a call to action," NYC Commissioner representing Luzon and PYDP Committee Chairperson Assistant Secretary Reena Vivienne Pineda said in a statement on Nov. 21.

NYC said the plan titled "Kabataan: Kaagapay sa Kaunlaran," is aligned with President Marcos Jr.'s Socio-Economic Agenda and AmBisyon Natin 2040, which is the long-term vision for the Philippines to become a prosperous and inclusive country.

It also echoed the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), recognizing the youth as key agents of change and their crucial role in its achievement.

"The PYDP 2023-2028 stands as a resounding testament to NYC's unwavering commitment to investing in the youth, who hold the key to unlocking the Philippines' potential," Pineda said.

The NYC said the plan was developed following consultations with youth leaders, experts, and stakeholders from government, civil society, and the private sector.

The plan also benefited from the expertise of the University of the Philippines (UP) Social Action Research and Development Foundation, which provided technical assistance in its formulation.

Pineda urged stakeholders to join towards collective efforts and emphasized the importance of empowering Filipino youth to "become the agents of change and the driving force behind our nation's continued progress."
