A recent Facebook post from Professor Clarita Carlos spells out her thoughts on what intimacy is, and what it is not. 

So far it has amassed over 10,000 reactions and has been shared over 1,200 times, so clearly the formed national security adviser has struck a chord with netizens. 

"Intimacy is not about sleeping together...," Carlos wrote, before adding, "It is about sharing fears, hopes and dreams..."

As of this writing, the post has gathered 5.2 heart reactions and 4.4 likes.

The chief policy adviser to House Speaker Martin Romualdez wrote nothing else on the main post, although she did agree with a particular commenter in Neil Robert Alagos Duterte, who said: "True intimacy is experienced when you deeply know and care for someone and they deeply know and care for you." 

"True intimacy can be experienced in multiple ways, including through physical connection, emotional connection, spiritual connection, and intellectual connection," Duterte said.  

Carlos, 76, is a retired professor of political science at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman.
