Former United Kingdom (UK) Prime Minister Tony Blair recently met with President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.

Incidentally, the top two officials of the Philippine House of Representatives were present during the meeting, which took place Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 17.
These were House Speaker Martin Romualdez of Leyte’s 1st district and Senior Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo of Pampanga’s 2nd district.
Romualdez is Marcos's cousin and top ally in the Philippine legislature. Meanwhile, Arroyo, a former president, has acted as the Chief Executive's mentor of sorts especially during important trips abroad, like the WEF.
The Davos meet features both key world leaders and the business elite, making it the perfect opportunity for Marcos to make a good impression on both sides.
Blair currently runs the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.
