A total of P311,324 worth of illegal drugs were seized by the Quezon City police from 16 suspects in a series of buy-bust operation in the city on Thursday, Feb. 16, and Friday, Feb. 17.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU), led by Maj. Hector Ortencio, conducted two buy-buy operations that resulted in the recovery of P210,800 worth of alleged shabu and the arrest of three suspects.
The DDEU launched the entrapment operation against the first suspect, Daniel Acleto, 34, of Brgy. San Antonio, Quezon City, along Santiago Street in the said barangay at around 5:10 a.m. on Thursday.
He yielded around 15 grams of alleged shabu valued at P102,000, the buy-bust money, and a cellphone
Another buy-bust operation was carried out by the DDEU in Barangay Batasan, Quezon City at around 3 a.m. on Friday, which led to the confiscation of P108,800 worth of shabu and the arrest of two suspects.
Police identified those arrested as Martina Mabansag, 45, and Noel Pautan, 39, both residents of Barangay Batasan.
Also seized from the suspects were around 16 grams of “shabu,” a cellphone, the buy-bust money, and a gray coin purse.
Meanwhile, operatives from the different police stations of the QCPD also confiscated P100,524 worth of alleged shabu and dried marijuana leaves and collared 13 suspects on Thursday and Friday.
The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
QCPD Director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III commended his men for the successful anti-illegal drug operations and encouraged the residents to continue reporting to them any illegal drug activities in their areas.
