The Quezon City government, along with the Department of Transportation, on Wednesday, Feb. 8. started the dry-run for the new traffic scheme on two city roads that aims to prevent the congestion of vehicles during rush hour.
According to the city government, the lanes at the center of Elliptical Road going to the East Avenue intersection will be closed to vehicles. It started at 5 a.m. on Wednesday.
Vehicles coming from Quezon Avenue to East Avenue (through Elliptical Road), as well as those from East Avenue must stay on the right lanes to enter/exit the Elliptical Road.
“Asahan ang pagbabago sa daloy ng trapiko dulot ng temporary intersection island na gawa sa concrete barriers (Expect a change in traffic flow due to the temporary intersection island made of concrete barriers),” it said.
It also advised that traffic enforcers from Quezon City Transport and Traffic Management Department (QC TTMD) were deployed while traffic signages were also placed on the roads to assist the motorists.
