Last May 31, fans of K-pop idol group BTS became concerned when Jungkook deleted all his Instagram posts.
He and other BTS members were in the US for their meeting with US President Joe Biden to discuss anti-Asian hate crimes and discrimination.
Netizens were puzzled by Jungkook’s action and expressed concern that he might be going through some personal issues.
“I will be mourning for next few days. Jungkook’s insta post will be missed. I will only able to heal if he drops something,” one fan posted on Twitter.
Back then, Jungkook had 40.4 million followers. He resumed posting on Instagram on June 2 and as of this writing, he has 40.9 million followers on Instagram.
In a live broadcast on Naver V Live, Jungkook talked about a variety of topics including the reason why he deleted his Instagram posts.
“A reason? Absolutely no reason at all. Nothing happened. I'm sure it's just a change of thought. It's not because something happened. I just didn't like it,” Jungkook explained why he erased all his posts.
He added, “Of course, communicating with you on Instagram through postings is all really precious and great. And I have it all in my heart.”
Jungkook said he erased the posts as he did not like how it looked.
“I do think that it's too bad that I just erased it all and I didn't know that you could store pictures. I wanted to make it look nicer. I'm going to post things in a different way from now on,” he said.
According to him, “I wanted to try something. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I can do that, right?”
“At first, I didn't get permission from you to erase them but I did get permission to try again. I expressed my respect for you through the way I called you 'dear ARMY.' Respect. Can I erase my pictures and start all over again? I wanted to appeal my sincerity,” he said.
