Beware of spam emails.
This was the warning given by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to the public after spam emails purportedly sent by CSC Chairperson Karlo Alexei B. Nograles were sent to some email addresses.
In the said fraudulent emails, it claims that the CSC chief requests assistance with the distribution of “gifts.”
The email reads: “Good morning. I have selected some of the staff to receive gifts for their hard work and I’ll be needing your assistance. I don’t know your schedule for today, so let me know if you’re able to assist me with this task. Your confidentiality will be appreciated. I wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise. Thanks. Regards, KARLO ALEXEI B. NOGRALES, Chairman.”
Such email has been disowned by the CSC, reiterating that the email did not originate from Nograles nor his office.
"lways check the sender’s email address and, if, in doubt, you may easily confirm it with the concerned office,” it said.
"The directory of all our offices, including official email addresses, is available on our website at www.csc.gov.ph."
According to CSC, suspicious emails or other forms of communications involving the CSC may be reported to the Contact Center ng Bayan.
“The public may get in touch by sending a message via SMS to 0908-8816565, or by sending an email to [email protected]. They may also communicate via the CSC Facebook page at www.facebook.com/civilservicegovph.”
