Advincula asks faithful to support Fast2Feed campaign

Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula has asked the faithful to help provide for the poor especially the malnourished children by supporting the Fast2Feed fundraising campaign of Pondo ng Pinoy.

"Pondo ng Pinoy Community Foundation Inc. is calling on your support in participating in the FAST2FEED fundraising campaign," he said in a pastoral letter released Tuesday, March 1.

“Fast Today And Feed A Child” — fast from a meal today, Ash Wednesday, and whatever savings you have from your small sacrifice may be donated to the Hapag-Asa Integrated Nutrition Program that has continued to provide food for over two million children across the nation since 2005," added Advincula, Pondo ng Pinoy Community Foundation Inc. chairman.

He said it would only take about ₱10 a day or ₱1,200 to continuously feed a child for six months.

With the start of Lent, Advincula asked the faithful to renew their commitment to a "life of prayer, fasting, and charity."

"Indeed, your small act of kindness—fasting from a meal today and giving to poor and hungry children will make a big difference to many Filipino families," he said.
