The Diocese of Bayombong in Nueva Vizcaya is asking for prayers for the successful operation and fast recovery of Bishop Jose Elmer I. Mangalinao.
In a circular letter released on Wednesday, Aug. 31, the diocese said the prelate was rushed and admitted to a hospital due to difficulty in breathing.
"At present, our bishop is in stable condition but was advised to undergo coronary artery heart bypass this coming weekend," it read.
"We ask all our beloved priests, religious, and faithful to offer your masses, Holy Hours, and recitation of the Holy Rosary for the successful operation and fast recovery of bishop," it further read.
"Let us continue to entrust Bishop Jose Elmer and ourselves to the maternal protection of our Mother Mary and the paternal love of St. Joseph," read the circular.
The circular was signed by Fr. Roberto T. Oliveros, Jr, the diocese's Chancellor.
