He's just getting started but "Pinoy Big Brother" alumnus Lance Justin Carr already had a glimpse of the harsh part of the entertainment world.
In an exclusive interview with Bulletin Entertainment, he shared how he learned about it the hard way.
"I wouldn’t get into detail pero ang dami kong na experience na sobrang bigat at sobrang frustrating," he said.
Then he later revealed: "Ang dami kong na meet na tao sa industry na akala ko totoo pero hindi pala. Gusto ka nilang ihila pababa para sila yung aangat."
So how did he handle it?
Lance said he just kept his distance from them.
In terms of what it taught him, he said: "You can't trust anyone pero at the same time naniniwala naman ako na may mga tunay at mabuting tao sa showbiz."
More than anything, the 21-year-old actor is happy that people recognize him now as an actor.
"Nakakatuwa lang din kasi yung pinsan kong Scottish-Arab-Filipino na baby pa, nagugulat pag may nagpapa-picture sa’kin kasi di niya alam na celebrity pala ako sa Pilipinas, I am happiest about is yung the fact na if may nagpapa-picture mga tao sakin, binabanggit nila, 'Ah yung nasa 'Beach Bros,' pa-picture tayo' and the likes. Parang sign of relief na rin sa akin yun kasi parang hindi nalang puro 'PBB' maalala ng mga tao sa akin atleast nakaka-labas na ako sa aking 'PBB' shell and people are starting to recognize me as an actor na rather than someone who just joined a reality show."
Lance admitted he doesn't want to be labeled as "hanggang 'PBB' lang."
"Na yun lang nagawa ko sa buong career ko," he maintained. "Syempre mas mapatunayan ko yung sarili ko sa industry if may mga acting projects din ako."
Given his age, he likes to do the coming-of-age roles.
Lance vowed to stay relevant for as long as he can.
"I really can't imagine having another job rather than showbiz. It's what I love to do. I love to entertain people and I think that's what inspires me to stay in showbiz and to do better. Mas motivated din ako because of my fans and supporters na never ending ang kanilang support sa lahat ng ganap ko."
