Robredo ends term with a bang: OVP gets highest COA rating for 4th time

Outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo is ending her six-year term with a bang after the Office of the Vice President (OVP) received an unqualified opinion, the highest audit rating given to a government agency, for the fourth straight year from the Commission on Audit (COA).

Robredo, who is spending her last day at the Quezon City Reception House (QCRH) today, June 29, shared the news on Twitter.

"We were granted an unqualified opinion by the Commission on Audit for the 4th straight year (2018-2021)!!! What a fitting exclamation point to our 6 years at the OVP (thankful emojis)," she wrote.

During the last episode of her weekly radio show over dzXL last Sunday, June 26, the outgoing Vice President revealed that she was waiting for the COA rating for the fiscal year 2021 and expressed hope that it would be released before she ends her term at noon of June 30.

This is the fourth consecutive year that the OVP, under her leadership, received an unqualified opinion from COA, having been given that distinction since 2018.

In auditing parlance, an unqualified opinion means that the office's financial statements conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and represent fairly the agency's financial accounts.

Robredo shared earlier that one of her goals upon assuming the position of vice president six years ago was to attain an unqualified opinion from the state auditors because this would strengthen the trust given to her office by the public and private partners.

Today marks her last day at the QCRH because she wants to prepare it for incoming Vice President Sara Duterte, who will temporarily hold office there starting June 30.
