Expanded F2F classes launched in Paranaque

The Paranaque City government launched the expanded face-to-face classes through “Hylearn Learning” at the Paranaque National High School's main campus amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic on Monday (Feb. 14).

Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the pilot run of limited in-person classes was approved by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

Olivarez has expressed support to the DepEd in welcoming children back to schools as it started its pilot of limited and voluntary in-person classes in minimal-risk areas.

He also distributed additional laptops, tablets, and android phones to students and provided internet connectivity to the school campus.

Olivarez said that aside from the gadgets distributed to children, the city government will also support the needs of students in the continuation of their hybrid learning.

He added that teaching and non-teaching personnel involved in the pilot run were required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to ensure the learners' safety.

For the participating learners, only those who were able to secure consent from their parents and those who have no comorbidities were allowed to join the classes.
