Man nabbed after stabbing drinking buddy to death in QC

A man was arrested by police shortly after he stabbed his friend to death during a drinking session in Quezon City on Thursday evening, Jan. 27.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Project 6 Station (PS 15) commander Lt. Col. Manny Siniguian identified the suspect as Cristo Tabarnilla, 33, a resident of Barangay Vasra, Quezon City.

Police said that the suspect and the victim, Ryan Horario, had an argument about a female friend while drinking in Barangay Vasra at around 7:40 pm.

At the peak of their quarrel, Tabarnilla took a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in different parts of the body, killing him.

The suspect tried to flee towards the Quezon Memorial Circle (QMC), but he was cornered by responding members of PS 15.

Authorities recovered from the suspect the blood-stained knife he used in committing the crime.

Tabarnilla will be charged with murder before the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office, police said.
