S&R informs NPC of cyber-attack

S&R Membership Shopping posted on their FB page a statement that they have been a victim of a cyber-attack but assured its members that no financial information has been compromised and is now coordinating with the National Privacy Commission.

The advisory released by S&R to members on its Facebook page. MB Technews was informed that members already received the notice from S&R as early as November 15

A letter to its members dated November 21 said the S&R Membership Management Team acted immediately and decisively to implement the company’s cybersecurity protocols and response plan promptly after detecting an irregular activity in its servers.

In compliance with the Data Privacy Act, the National Privacy Commission (NPC) has also been immediately notified regarding the matter.

S&R Membership also assured its members that all of its members’ credit cards and other financial information are “safe and secured,” as these data are protected by encryption measures and that the company is implementing measures to further reinforce its IT security system.
