As previously announced by DepEd, pilot face-to-face classes in private schools will start on Nov. 22.
Just like in public schools, DepEd said there is also a selection process for private schools.
When the President allowed the pilot implementation of face-to-face classes, DepEd also started consultations with private school associations.
After the consultations were completed, DepEd and the private schools agreed on the selection process.
As agreed upon, each region was asked to nominate three private schools to the DepEd Central Office.
The nominated private schools have to be evaluated by DOH and DepEd-Private Education Office (PEO).
From there, a total of 20 private schools will be selected to join the pilot run.
DepEd said that private schools who submitted proposals to the Central office were referred to Regional offices for inclusion in the evaluation.
International Schools, on the other hand, were recommended by DepEd to be allowed to implement face-to-face on top of the 120 schools for pilot face-to-face classes.
However, the IS “shall take full responsibility” and they need to get the approval from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
