From Oct. 25 to Nov. 4, a total of 2,069 minors with and without comorbidities were vaccinated in Muntinlupa, or an average of 259 kids per day during the eight-day period.

Of the total, 1,209 minors with and without comorbidities were inoculated at the city-run Ospital ng Muntinlupa (OsMun) in Brgy. Alabang, one of the pilot hospitals for the vaccination of minors in the city.

In addition, 444 minors without comorbidities were vaccinated at SM Center Muntinlupa and 444 at Ayala Malls South Park.

The city government started vaccinating minors under the Pediatric A3 group on Oct. 25 while those without comorbidities were inoculated starting Nov. 3.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi continued his call for parents and guardians to register their children with the Muntinlupa City COVID-19 Vaccination Program (MunCoVac) and have them vaccinated protection from the adverse effects of COVID-19.

As of Nov. 1, 16,399 minors aged 12 to 17 years old including 1,363 with comorbidities have registered with MunCoVac

Comorbidities eligible for the Pediatric A3 vaccination are medical complexity, genetic conditions, neurologic conditions, metabolic/endocrine diseases, cardiovascular diseases, obesity, HIV infection, tuberculosis, chronic respiratory diseases, renal disorders, hepatobiliary diseases and immunocompromised state due to disease or treatment.

The country’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) earlier approved Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines to be used in 12 years old and above.

Residents may register online through MunCoVac at vaccine.muntinlupacity.gov.ph/muncovac to receive a schedule. After receiving their schedule, vaccine recipients with their parents or guardians should proceed to the OsMun vaccination site.
