'DEADPOOL' files COC

Just when you thought it cannot get any weirder, there comes a man wearing a “Deadpool” mask who filed a certificate of candidacy (COC) for senator before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) at the Sofitel Tent in Pasay City on Friday, Oct.8, during the last day of filing.

The Comelec, in its Twitter, identified him as Julian “Ded Pul” Navarra. He is running as an independent candidate.

“Ded Pul” was wearing a red polo shirt and black coat, and a mask of the Marvel antihero “Deadpool.”

Deadpool, a fictional comic character, was depicted first as a supervillain. But, he later then evolved into an anti-heroic persona.

The real name of the comic character of “Deadpool” is Wade Winston Wilson, a disfigured mercenary with superhuman ability of regeneration and physical prowess.
