Muntinlupa LGU awaiting update from DSWD on release of SAP 1 second tranche
The Muntinlupa City government is waiting for the response from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) regarding beneficiaries in the city who have not received the second tranche of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) released last year.
In a letter, Mayor Jaime Fresnedi informed and reminded Social Welfare Sec. Rolando Joselito Bautista of his promise to send a representative “to discuss and to reconcile the issues behind the pending release of the 2nd month subsidy of the 12,212 household beneficiaries of Social Amelioration Program (SAP 1).”

Republic Act 11469, the Bayanihan To Heal As One Act,” provided for the giving of emergency subsidy to about 18 million low income families, and five million eligible families not included in the initial family-beneficiaries amounting to P5,000 to P8,000.
Fresnedi told Bautista that the city government was able to submit the updated information on the head of households on Sept. 17, 2020 to resolve “the data quality problem that prevented them from claiming the subsidy allocated for them.”
DSWD Regional Director Vicente Gregorio Tomas sent a letter dated Aug. 26 to Fresnedi to submit the list of beneficiaries.
In an update on Sept. 6, the Muntinlupa City government said that according to the DSWD, those who did not receive the SAP 1 second tranche are those with “data quality” problems such as wrong spelling of their names, wrong birthday and phone number.
It said that since September, 2020, the city government has been following up with the DSWD on the emergency subsidy.
This time, it said, the city government again submitted complete documents that were required by DSWD.
“The city government gave what the DSWD needed and we are just waiting for the notice from the agency,” the city government stated.
