'Running Man' suffers ratings drop after Lee Kwangsoo's departure

Fans of “Running Man” may still be hurting from the departure of long-time cast member Lee Kwangsoo
from the show as it recorded its second lowest rated episode of the year last weekend.

According to Korean news outlets, the recent episode of “Running Man” drew only 5.3 percent of
audience, translating to some 1.81 million viewers.

The show’s lowest rated episode of the year was recorded last March 14 at 5.2 percent.

It can be recalled that fans of the show have been mourning the decision of Lee Kwangsoo to leave the
show due to an ankle injury sustained early in the year due to a car accident. In his emotional farewell
episode, Kwangsoo apologized to his fellow cast and crew, as well as his supporters for making the
tough decision.

The show’s production decided not to cast a replacement for Kwangsoo to prevent comparisons and
said that he will always be a cherished member of the “Running Man” family.
