3 modular hospitals at Lung Center of the Philippines to open by end of June
Three modular hospitals currently under construction at the Lung Center of the Philippines in Quezon City will be operational by the end of June 2021, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.

The modular hospitals, which will house 66 isolation rooms, are intended for severe and critical cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said.
According to Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain, electrical, ventilation and other hospital systems and equipment are now being installed and tested on three hospital cluster units.
"Construction workers have been working round-the-clock to get the facility completed inasmuch as delivery of the much needed additional hospital rooms will allow earlier occupation to support the increased demand for Lung Center of the Philippines emergency care of COVID-19 patients," Sadain said following a project inspection Friday, June 18.
Meanwhile, two more cluster units with 44 rooms are aimed for completion in July. Of the two units, one cluster will be intended specifically for intensive care units (ICU) dedicated for patients who require high levels of medical care and complex treatment.
Once all completed, the five cluster units of modular hospital will give the hospital additional 110 hospital beds.
A 16-room dormitory for healthcare workers of the hospital is also under way. It will be completed in July.
