After a dip in performance on the third day of the group stage, TNC Predator still has a shot at advancing to the WePlay AniMajor playoffs upper bracket.
However, the Filipinos also face the grim possibility of exiting the second Dota 2 Major of the year being held in Kiev, Ukraine.
TNC suffered a 2-0 sweep to upper bracket-bound PSG.LGD and settled for a 1-1 draw with Team Liquid following a Game 1 victory powered by Kim "Gabbi" Santos' carry Axe early Monday, June 7 (PH time).
The results pulled the all-Filipino squad from a tie at No. 2 down to a deadlock at No. 4 with Evil Geniuses on identical 6-6 records.
There's no other recourse for TNC but to score a sweep against Team Spirit later at 8 p.m. for a chance to force a tiebreaker for the remaining seat in the winners' bracket.
TNC will need LGD to secure at least a draw versus Vici Gaming and Beastcoast to sweep Amer "Miracle-" Barkawi's Team Nigma. That will allow the PH side to forge a deadlock at No. 2 where EG could also join with a 2-0 win against Liquid.
A single game win against Team Spirit will be enough to propel the Filipinos to the playoffs, albeit in the lower bracket.
But if they lose via 2-0, Gabbi and the crew will have to battle Team Spirit once again for the right to stay in the tournament.
A four-way tiebreaker between TNC, Team Spirit, EG and Liquid could also happen if Liquid beats EG with a 2-0 scoreline.
The last day of the group stage will start with a battle between Chinese giants LGD and VG at 6 p.m.
