It’s official. K-pop superstars and Grammy nominee BTS have set a new record on YouTube with their new music video "Butter." YouTube told Manila Bulletin on May 22 that the “Butter” MV has officially set a new all-time record for the biggest music video Premiere with over 3.9 million peak concurrent.

BTS’ “Butter” premiered on YouTube at 1 p.m. Korea Standard Time (KST) on May 21. The YouTube Premiere record refers to the total number of viewers who watched the music video at the same time.

With this, BTS surpassed their own YouTube Premiere record as “Butter” eclipsed their “Dynamite” music video.

On Aug. 22 last year, YouTube confirmed to Manila Bulletin that BTS’ “Dynamite” set a new all-time record for the biggest music video Premiere with viewers of over 3 million peak concurrent when it was released on Aug. 21.

The next YouTube record that BTS are poised to shatter through “Butter” is the most viewed music video in the first 24 hours of release.

They currently hold the record through “Dynamite,” which accumulated 101.1 million views upon its release on Aug. 21, 2020 to set a new record for the most watched music video in the first 24 hours of release.

The “Dynamite” music video also set four Guinness World Records titles for the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours, most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours, most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group and the biggest YouTube Premiere with over 3 million viewers.
