Don’t be surprised if one day you’re chatting with the country’s second top official for your medical care.
Well, she’s doing her part in the Office of the Vice President’s (OVP) free medical teleconsultation service.
Vice President Leni Robredo’s second daughter Tricia bared her mother like any other volunteers is lending a hand to those in need of medical attention during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Bayanihan E-Konsulta Day what-day-is-it-even. 1851 requests since Apr(il) 11 and we find ourselves in diff(erent) workstreams. Me on triage shift, @aikarobredo on database and.. @lenirobredo already an agent at call center?!” she said in a Twitter post Tuesday, April 13.
Aika, or Jessica Marie, is the eldest daughter of the vice president and the late interior secretary Jesse Robredo. The youngest is Jillian, currently in the United States pursuing a college degree.
Tricia, a volunteer doctor in the OVP’s Bayanihan E-Konsulta, accompanied her post with a screenshot of the database that indicated the vice president was among those handling the inquiries. In it, she was on duty Tuesday, April 13.
“Wala akong masabi sa dedication ng OVP staff. Iba (I can’t say anything to the dedication of OVP staff. They are exceptional),” she added.
Robredo’s office has set up the online platform offering free medical services to COVID and non-COVID outpatients in Metro Manila and nearby provinces belonging to the NCR Plus bubble.
This program aims to service those who are not able to get medical care from overcrowded hospitals because of the prevailing health crisis.
The OVP, however, is shorthanded of manpower resources because of the overwhelming inquiries from the public since the launch of the initiative last week.
So, here comes the vice president and her two daughters also doing their volunteer work for the cause.
Tricia was also among the volunteer swabbers of the OVP’s Swab Cab program that gives free antigen testing communities with high rates of COVID-19 transmission. It was piloted in Malabon City.
