Sandara Park was unable to contain her emotions when fellow 2ne1 member Minzy talked of how the former adapted to change after their girl group disbanded.

Minzy was among the guests on "Video Star," which Sandara co-hosts. There, they discussed their respective careers and being public figures.

Prior to their disbandment in 2016, 2ne1 was on hiatus for nearly three years.

"I was having a hard time because of the hiatus," Minzy said, as translated by Soompi. "Personally, I was also depressed and very stressed because of that. Then after I left the group, people called me a 'traitor.'"

Minzy left 2NE1 as well as its agency, YG Entertainment, in April 2016.

"The rumors and false reports spread," Minzy said. "Honestly, that was the hardest thing for me to handle. I was 22 years old at that time. I think I just didn't look at the media online for quite a while, because it was too hard for me to deal with."

Minzy shared how Sandara became her source of motivation.

"When I watched Sandara, as a co-worker, I saw how many different things she does, how she takes on new challenges and grows. I think that gave me a lot of strength when we were going through a hiatus," Minzy said.

Sandara was instantly in tears at Minzy's words, according to Soompi.

"She was the mom in our group," Minzy said of Sandara. "She was always taking care of us and looking out for us."

A tearful Dara responded: "I'm not the type of person who shows affection, so it's only lately that I've expressed myself a lot. I do things like sending hearts in messages. When we were promoting, I feel like I wasn't able to take care of you, our youngest member, a lot. I felt very sorry. It must have been so hard for you at such a young age. I regret that."

2NE1 — composed of Sandara, Minzy, Bom, and CL — is credited as among the frontliners of K-pop's international popularity with successive hits throughout their seven-year run.
