Bishop Inzon said that just like his Episcopal Ordination, the rites will be kept simple but with more people in attendance to fill in 50 percent of the capacity of the Jolo Cathedral in Sulu.

Jolo is now under modified general community quarantine which allows parishioners to occupy 50 percent of the church’s capacity.

“What’s important is the holding of installation rituals including the ritual of acceptance and the ritual of reception of the new bishop in order for him to start his new mission,” Inzon said over Church-run Radio Veritas.

Bishops belonging to Inzon’s religious order, the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI), are expected to attend his installation.

Pope Francis named the 54-year-old Church leader as the new head of the Apostolic Vicariate of Jolo on April 4. He replaced Cotabato Archbishop Angelito Lampon, OMI, who was transferred to the Archdiocese of Cotabato in 2018.

Ordained priest on April 24, 1993 in Caloocan City, Inzon was ordained bishop last May 21. The Apostolic Vicariate of Sulu covers the provinces of Sulu and Tawi-Tawi with a Catholic population of about 30,000.
