BACOLOD CITY – Vice President Leni Robredo has high hopes for voters from Bacolod City and Negros Occidental to deliver votes for “Otso Direto” senatorial bets.

Robredo, who attended the launching of Robredo’s Ahon Laylayan Koalisyon-Negros Occidental chapter in Bacolod City on Monday, told the members of the media, that she is positive that “Otso Diretso” aspirants will win votes in the province.
“Ang pakiramdam ko, sa 2019 elections ipapakita ulit ng Bacolod saka ng Negros iyong kaniyang paninindigan” Robredo said, adding that the province had already stood its right long years ago.
About 3,000 people attended the said event, which was also graced by reelectionist Senator Bam Aquino, former congressman Erin Tañada, Marawi civic leader Samira Gutoc, and human rights lawyer Chel Diokno, who are part of "Otso Diretso."
Other senatorial bets under Otso Diretso, who are not present during the event, are former Senator Mar Roxas, Magdalo party-list Rep. Gary Alejano, former Solicitor General Pilo Hilbay, and Romy Macalintal, a veteran election lawyer,
Robredo also said that the number of volunteers that are helping to campaign for “Otso Diretso,” is inspiring.
“All over the country, iyong mga volunteers gumagastos, sila iyong mga nagpapaimprenta ng collaterals. Talagang lumalabas sa mga trabaho nila para magkampanya. Ito iyong napakagandang opportunity na iyong mensahe, iyong kapangyarihan, wala sa nahahalal, pero talagang nasa taumbayan,” she said.
