Personnel of Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City said on Thursday that some visitors had a difficulty locating the graves of their relatives buried in the cemetery because of the huge number of bodies buried there.

Leandra Lorenzo, internment counselor of the memorial park, said that the confusion is caused by the numerous tombs in the cemetery.
“Dahil po sa dami na rin ng nakalibing dito, nahihirapan po sila na makita yung mga libingan. (Because of the numerous buried here, they have a difficulty finding the graves),” she said.
Fortunately, the park keeps an electronic record of the names buried in the cemetery and their exact location, she added.
“We check the first name first, then the middle initial. If you check the last name first, it is going to be difficult. For example, there were a number of bodies buried here with ‘Santos’ as their last name,” the counselor said in Filipino.
The management also provided the inquiring visitors with a map of the cemetery where they will identify the exact location of the missing grave.
Meanwhile, Manny Salfaison, who after visiting a local belt maker nearby, went to Loyola Memorial Park to pay respects to his departed father-in-law on All Saints’ Day.
He went to the management of the cemetery and asked for assistance in locating the grave of his wife’s father.
However, the management said that they could not find the name of his relative and concluded that his father-in-law is not buried in the cemetery.
“All along we knew that he was buried at Loyola . Nasa Manila Memorial Park pala,” Salfaison said.
Salfaison decided that he will go to Manila Memorial Park today since he expected that the cemetery is jam-packed with visitors yesterday.
