A puppet called Enchong Go; real Enchong Dee stays afloat

MANILA, Philippines -- Enchong Go, not Dee: Don’t mistake “Enchong Go” for Enchong Dee. They are absolutely not related to each other.
Enchong is ventriloquist comedian Wanlu’s newest puppet, what he calls his animatronic monkey puppet. He also happens to be, by far, Wanlu’s most expensive puppet.
A product of Axtell Expressions in the USA, Enchong is an advanced puppet that can be operated by two types of remote controls.
He is also programmable with the use of a computer and he has built-in tracks in his MP3 player.
Wanlu says he uses Enchong Go as Nicolo’s puppet; meaning he is a puppet’s puppet.
“I also use him for trade shows, school shows, product launchings and he is also my co-host in kiddie birthday parties. Of course I also use him for TV shows,” he says.
Enchong debuted on TV5’s “Sapul” late last year. He has also appeared in other TV5 shows like “Talentadong Pinoy,” “Lucky Numbers,” “Wow Meganon,” “Happy Together” and “Loko Moko U.”
Enchong Go has also been featured in shows from other networks like “AHA,” “Unang Hirit” and “Wow Hayop.”
The monkey puppet also has a new segment in TV5’s “Sapul sa Singko” starting April which will focus on teaching children stuff from good manners to magic tricks as well as scientific experiments, art lessons, trivia, and a whole lot more. Enchong also co-hosts a new segment on “Wow, Meganon” with Joey de Leon over TV5.
Incidentally, Enchong’s master, Wanlu, recently received recognition as Asia’s Best Ventriloquist from Asia Pacific Awards held at Gateway in Cubao, Quezon City. For details about Enchong Go and Wanlu, contact them at thepartyzoo@yahoo.com.
Enchong Dee afloat: The real Enchong Dee knows how to keep his acting career afloat. He has stayed in-demand as an actor by being professional and by continuously improving on his craft.
Enchong’s latest caper is the male lead in the Filipino adaptation of the Mexican soap opera, “Maria la del Barrio.” The young actor and champion swimmer is aware he has a lot of catching up to do to measure up to the hunk who played his character in the original.
That puts him on equal footing with his leading lady, Erich Gonzales, who’s not even mestiza in contrast to the fair and square Thalia who played the original Maria la del Barrio.
Enchong and Erich make up the newest working loveteam at ABS-CBN. They have previously earned high ratings in “Katorse” and the indie film, “Paano Ko Sasabihin.”
Meanwhile, Enchong is following in the footsteps of Aga Muhlach as a Jollibee endorser. He is the brand’s new face for its Jollibee Float line of summer coolers.
Enchong lists Palabok Fiesta and Jolly Hotdog as his childhood favorites at the popular fast food chain.
