Passenger bus catches fire in Quezon; all onboard safe

CALAUAG, Quezon – A passenger bus caught fire on the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Doña Aurora here before dawn on Tuesday, September 24.

Police said the Raymond Bus with license plates ACC-8630 driven by Arden Penola, 47, was on its way to Bicol when he suddenly applied the precautionary break followed by an explosion.

Penola parked the bus on the outer lane of the road and he noticed that the rear right end tire burst, triggering a fire.

His conductor and all passengers safely disembarked.

Police said the bus was totally burned.
