Police Lt. Col. Janette Rafter, deputy city director for administration of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said security measures are already in place for the week-long sporting event.

Athletes and their delegations started arriving here last Wednesday, May 1.

Police Col. Ireneo Dalogdog, chief of CCPO, serves as the task group commander while Police Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, head of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas, is the overall commander.

“The CVIRAA is not just an event of the CCPO that’s why the PRO-7 is the one supervising the security measures,” said Rafter.

Athletes from Cebu, Dumaguete, Siquijor, and Bohol are competing in the multi-sport competition.

Rafter said that authorities are looking forward to a zero crime rate during the duration of the competition.

With this, augmentation forces from Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion have been tapped to help secure the various tournament venues.

Policemen will be deployed in billeting areas.

A Multi-Agency Coordinating Center has been set up at the Cebu City Hall to ensure the peaceful and successful holding of the competition.
