Expect hot, humid weather with patches of rain in some areas in the coming days — PAGASA

Although there may be scattered rain showers in some areas, majority of the country will continue to experience hot and humid conditions in the coming days, based on the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (PAGASA) weather outlook from May 4 to 10.

PAGASA said the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms to Davao Region and portions of Central Mindanao on Saturday, May 4.

ITCZ is a convergence of winds from the northern and southern hemispheres where rain-bearing clouds form.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said the easterlies, which will remain the dominant weather system, will bring partly cloudy skies with the possibility of localized rain showers or thunderstorms across the rest of the country.

From Sunday to Wednesday, May 5 to 8, PAGASA said the easterlies will continue to prevail over the country, which will result in partly cloudy to cloudy skies throughout the archipelago, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms possible in the afternoon or evening.

From Thursday to Friday, May 9 to 10, a frontal system—a weather system in which warm and cold air merge—may bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Cagayan Valley and Aurora, while the rest of the country will remain partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterlies.
