126 PRO-13 personnel test negative in drug test


BUTUAN CITY – One-hundred twenty-six police personnel from  Surigao del Norte tested negative in a surprise drugs test conducted on Tuesday, April 30, by the Police Regional Office-13.

PRO 13-Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said the drug test is part of the internal cleansing program of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The Regional Forensic Unit-13 said four police commissioned officers, 113 police non-commissioned officers, and nine non-uniformed personnel assigned to the Socorro Municipal Police Station (MPS), General Luna MPS, Dapa MPS, and 2nd Surigao del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company manning the Advance Operation Base in Sitio Kapihan, Socorro, Surigao del Norte took the drug test.

 PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft personally led the drug test with the RFU-13 led by officer-in-charge Police Lt. Col. Aileen U. Bernido administering it.  All urine samples tested negative for marijuana and shabu, Kraft said. 

“We want to ensure that our PNP personnel are 100 percent free from substance abuse,” he said. “We shall serve as examples for the community, especially now that our anti-illegal drug operations have been intensified.”
