Teacher, 4 others caught in Cebu City drug stings


CEBU CITY – Five persons, including a private school teacher, were arrested in buy-bust operations here.

Arrested in Barangay Babag 2 on Thursday night, April 25, were Rey Mark  Rabasano, 23, and his live-in partner, Maribel Arcilla, 31, a private school teacher.

The operation was conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Cebu Provincial Office and Cebu City Police Station 4.

Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA-Central Visayas, said Rabasano is target-listed drug personality.

Alcantara said that the couple was monitored for two months before they were arrested. The suspects were capable of selling 100 to 300 grams of suspected shabu a week.

Confiscated from them were three packs of shabu weighing around 15 grams with an estimated market value of P102,000.

In Barangay Basak-San Nicolas, the PDEA Regional Special Enforcement Team and Cebu City Police Station 11 dismantled a drug den and caught its owner and two patrons.

They were identified as 40-year-old Alvin Flores, the alleged maintainer of the drug den; and customers Angelo Bulao, 21, and Permolio A. Haincadto, 39. Recovered from them were 12 grams of suspected shabu worth P81,600.
