What is in your EDC?

It is 2024 and every year, I usually wrestle as to what I will be adding or removing from my everyday carry (EDC). There are days when need to bring the 11" M1 iPad Pro with 5G paired with the Apple Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil, but for most days, I travel light. So what's in my EDC?

The iPhone 15 Pro. For work, having access to Messages and Signal, along with e-mail and calendar, is enough to function. Yes, bare minimum. If there are documents that need to be read and reviewed or commented on, having it in PDF format is perfect, as it can be opened within Messages app. When collaboration is needed, it is either a Google Doc or Sheet, and it is a hit or miss for me as I do not have any Google app on my phone - sometimes it works on Safari, sometimes it does not (it does but too much hassle).

Apple Watch Ultra. I prefer having the iPhone in my pocket, so having glanceable information, like Message or Signal alert, e-mail or calendar event, makes the Apple Watch a perfect companion. Yes, I do like keeping tabs of my biometric data (yeah, racking up steps and burning calories FTW), too. Affiliate link at https://amzn.to/47W3Yja.

Anker MagGo 633. Having access to 10,000mAh battery is always welcome, but I chose this one because it has magnetic wireless charging. No, I do not use it wireless charging much because it heats up the iPhone's battery quickly, which degrades it. I like to attach it to the iPhone via MagSafe and charge it using a short USB 4 Type C cable. Good thing you can turn off wireless charging on the Anker. Affiliate link at https://amzn.to/3HMfLGi.

Orico Type-C Thunderbolt 4 USB 4 nylon braided cable. Got the short cable with right-angled connector on one end, which I attach to the iPhone and the other end straight to the Anker battery pack. The cable claims to have PD100W, 40Gbps and 8K video support - so it is also perfect when connecting to the iMac or external storage. Affiliate link athttps://amzn.to/3ugcoEn.

Yubikey 5c NFC. I have hardware-based second factor authentication enabled on every online service that supports it. In some cases, passkeys using my iPhone would suffice, but for those with no passkey support, the Yubikey is key! This one makes it perfect for use when I am on my work desk by using its USB Type-C interface, and NFC on the iPhone. Affiliate link at https://amzn.to/3ugctrF.

AirTag. The Yubikey is hooked up to an Apple AirTag. Yeah, just in case, at least I know where I have left it, and also know when to deactivate it, in case it gets lost. Affiliate link at https://amzn.to/3SGfQ4m.

3M N95 Respirator. I have tried a lot of different 3M N95 respirator and the V.Flex is one of the most comfortable one. Yeah, I am one of those maskers - specially when in a crowded indoor venues or in ride-share cars. Affiliate link at https://amzn.to/3vWkZfI.

Wallet. An old Bellroy wallet that is due for a replacement,  stores cards, IDs, and cash. How I wish that Apple Pay is available in the Philippines.

Reading glasses. Yeah, I am in that age range. I make sure that this pair of magnetic reading glasses is on my neck before leaving the house. I love the  Clic magnetic reading glasses - just don't wear them when you read in bed. Affiliate link at https://amzn.to/4boVsME.

tomtoc compact EDC Sling bag. This 4L sling bag is where everything is stored when I am on the go (other items are kept in the pockets, though). Add a small pack of sanitary wipes and small bottle of alcohol (the rubbing kind, not the drinking kind) and the picture is complete. Affiliate link at https://amzn.to/49jRP8H.

There you go. The bare minimum EDC for me. How about you, what is in your EDC?
