Convicted idol Seungri, former member of K-pop boy band Big Bang, was to be transferred to a civilian prison on June 9 along with his discharge from the military.

South Korea’s Supreme Court upheld on May 26 the prison sentence imposed on former K-pop boy band Big Bang member Seungri, 32, who was convicted on nine charges including prostitution brokerage and overseas gambling.

K-pop group Big Bang will be making their comeback in four years.

Former K-pop boy band Big Bang member Seungri scored victory when a military court commuted his sentence to one year and six months from three years following his conviction in August last year on nine charges including prostitution mediation.

Former K-pop boy band Big Bang member Seungri, 31, filed an appeal with the General Military Court in Korea, which convicted him on nine charges including prostitution mediation.

The personal information of Seungri (real name Lee Seung-hyun), 30, former member of K-pop boy band Big Bang, will be registered with the government for his sex crime after he was convicted by a military court on Aug. 12 on nine charges. 

A general military court sentenced on Aug. 12 former K-pop boy band Big Bang member Seungri to three years in prison on various charges such as prostitution mediation. 

Embattled Korean celebrity Seungri, former member of K-pop boy band Big Bang, must be put in jail for five years if prosecutors have their way. 

K-pop group Girls’ Generation member and DJ Hyoyeon was dragged into the Burning Sun club scandal that forced Big Bang member Seungri to retire from the entertainment industry in March 2019. 

South Korea’s Supreme Court has upheld the jail terms of disgraced K-pop stars Jung Joon-young, 31, and Choi Jong-hoon, 30, former leader of band FT Island, for raping women and other crimes.
