Construction of the first 5-kilometer section of the P23 billion NLEX Connector, between Caloocan and España Interchanges, is 35 per cent complete and has reached Abad Santos Street and Blumentritt, Manila.

NLEX Corporation goes full blast on its major infrastructure projects, from the 8-kilometer NLEX Connector to the upgrade of the 5-kilometer Candaba Viaduct, despite community quarantine restrictions.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and NLEX Corporation today (February 19, 2021) formally opened the  P1.6 billion, 8.2 km Subic Freeport Expressway (SFEX) expansion linking Bataan, Zambales, Pampanga and the rest of Central Luzon through the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway. 

The new and expanded section of the 8.2-km Subic Freeport Expressway (SFEX) will remain open to motorists from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. until its full completion next month.

The NLEX-SCTEX toll plazas reported light traffic in recent weeks, even during the holiday rush, after the operator carried out measures to control congestion.

This year, NLEX Corporation continues building its three major road projects – Subic Freeport Expressway (SFEX) Capacity Expansion, Candaba Viaduct Upgrade and NLEX Connector.

Starting today (December 28) until January 15, 2021, the P1.6-billion expanded section of the 8.2-kilometer Subic Freeport Expressway (SFEX) will be temporarily opened for motorists coming in and out of the Subic Bay Freeport Zone for the holidays.

After Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian suspended North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corp.'s business permit on December 7 due to traffic congestion resulting from its cashless toll collection scheme, the company said it “will implement several measures to resolve the Valenzuela issue to protect its customers and stakeholders.”
