More than 121,000 individuals have already received their booster shots in Muntinlupa City.

Based on data from the City Health Office, as of April 6, a total of 121,428 individuals have been given their booster shots.

The total is equivalent to 25 percent of the 486,037 fully vaccinated individuals in Muntinlupa and 27 percent of 442,517, or 80 percent of the city’s total population of 553,146 based on Department of Health (DOH) data.

From March 30 to April 6, boosted population rose from 115,435 to 121,428, or a total of 5,993 individuals who got their booster doses or 856 recipients per day.

In the country, the Department of Health (DOH) reported that as of April 3, 12.15 million Filipinos have received their booster doses, or 18.4 percent of the 66.12 million who have been fully vaccinated.

Among the 12 to 17 age group in Muntinlupa, 38,436 have been fully vaccinated as of April 6, or 68 percent of the total population of 56,499.

In addition, 8,854 five to 11 years old have been fully vaccinated in Muntinlupa, or 13 percent of the total population of 68,198 for the age group.

As of April 7, Muntinlupa recorded three remaining active Covid-19 cases out of 39,911 confirmed cases, 39,294 recoveries and 614 deaths.

Six of the nine barangays in Muntinlupa are Covid-19-free: Tunasan, Bayanan, Ayala Alabang, Cupang, Buli and Sucat. The three active cases are listed in Poblacion, Putatan and Alabang.

Regarding a proposal to put a six-month validity on vaccination cards, Health Usec. Maria Rosario Vergeire told a media briefing on April 5 that the DOH is studying proposals based on experiences of other countries on how they adopted a new term for "fully vaccinated" persons.

In Singapore, she said, they redefined “fully vaccinated” by imposing a validity period of nine months for the primary series. After it expires, people need to get their booster shots.
