The International Finance Corporation has invested $100 million through a private placement of social bonds issued by Ayala Corporation subsidiary AC Health to help the development of the country’s healthcare sector.

Ayala Corporation announced that the first shipment of Molnupiravir, an oral anti-viral treatment for mild COVID-19, arrived in the country through a partnership between MedEthix, a member of the Ayala Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (AC Health).

The International Finance Corp. (IFC) is investing in a social bond to be issued by Ayala Corp.’s foreign subsidiary that will fund the development of an integrated health ecosystem in the country.

AC Health, a member of the Ayala Group of Companies, has administered over 500,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, breaching the halfway mark of its one million-dose target.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) praised on Tuesday, Aug. 17, its partners in the private sector for their initiative to provide tourism workers in El Nido, Palawan and their dependents their first dose of vaccines against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The Ayala group reported that its healthcare arm AC Health has administered over 125,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine since the first batch arrived in the Philippines late February.

QualiMed Health Network, a member of the Ayala group of companies, reported that it has vaccinated over 1,400 of its healthcare worker population.

Ayala Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (AC Health), through Healthway Philippines Inc. (HPI), has signed agreements to acquire a controlling stake of Mercado General Hospital, Inc. (Qualimed), which owns or has interests in the Qualimed Health Network.
