The Philippine volleyball teams are gearing up for the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam in May by setting up training camps in Qatar for the men’s squad and Brazil for the women’ squad.

All 16 players who attended last month’s tryouts are included in the women’s national pool following the Philippine National Volleyball Federation Inc (PNVF) announcement Wednesday, May 13.

Players who failed to attend national team tryouts will not be included in the selection process for the Philippine team bound for the 31st Southeast Asian Games.

Former national team captain Aby Maraño detailed Wednesday’s tryouts for the Philippine women’s volleyball squad at the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority despite the low turnout of athletes due to the pandemic.

The Philippine National Volleyball Federation Inc. (PNVFI) has prepared a 10-point goal strategy to strengthen the sport in the country.
