More than 43,000 individuals have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Pasig City, Mayor Vico Sotto announced Sunday (May 9). He said over 20,000 senior citizens in the city have been given the first dose of the vaccine. “Pasig LGU has now vaccinated over 43K people (1st dose). Sa seniors mahigit 25 percent na tayo ng target (For seniors, we have inoculated over 25 percent of our target),” he announced on Twitter. The mayor earlier appealed to his constituents not to arrive too early at their designated vaccination sites so the area would not be congested. According to Sotto, Pasig City will not yet open a new vaccination site as long as there is still no enough supply of COVID-19 vaccines. The city government of Pasig has ordered 400,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, the mayor said. As of May 7, Pasig City has a total of 962 active cases of COVID-19.
