Excesses, inequalities in nat’l budget bill

The Senate has been going through the proposed P4.5-trillion General Appropriation Bill for 2021 approved last month by the House of Representatives.  The Senate  will approve its own  National Appropriation Bill  which will then be consolidated by a Bicameral   Conference Committee  into the final Congress-approved bill for  signing by  President Duterte in December.

    Offered her whole livelihood

To live in poverty deprived of life’s necessities is not a value. Human persons, created in God’s image, are to have a dignified existence.      We are turning on our Christmas lights

New  distinctive  Christmas lanterns with 16  white rays   spreading out  from the center are now being installed  on streetlight posts in Manila.  Makati’s business district is now all lighted  up at night  by Ayala Land, an annual tradition.  Caloocan’s Christmas lanterns at the giant posts holding up  the elevated rails  have  lighted the city’s avenues for sometime now.
