According to the Philippine Coast Guard-Central Visayas (PCG 7), 98 rolling cargoes and 25 passenger vessels were not allowed to sail as of 10:30 a.m. Friday.
At least 1,600 passengers were stranded in various terminals in Cebu and Bohol.
Most of the cancelled trips were for Leyte, Eastern Samar, Masbate and Sorsogon since these areas were placed under signal no. 1 Friday.
Also placed under signal no. 1 were northern Cebu and Camotes Islands.
Lt. Jr. Grade Michael John Encina, spokesperson of PCG 7, advised the public to forego planned trips to avoid being stranded.
Usman was expected to make its landfall in Eastern Samar Friday night.
