It seems like a new year, new skin tone for Kapuso star Derek Ramsay.

Kapuso Soul Balladeer Garrett Bolden welcomed the New Year with his newest single and original composition “Our Love” under GMA Music. According to Bolden, “The Clash” finalist, the song relates how love is something that should not be taken for granted. “One should always cherish the time and the memories he or she shares with people they love.” “Nakaka-relate ako nang sobra kasi it’s a song that aids one’s longing for someone. It is from my heart and I dedicate it to everyone who is going through the same feeling of love,” said the All-Out Sundays mainstay.

After our feature on the “Ten Most Fashionable Men and Women of TV News” made quite an impact both among our readers and in the newsrooms where news anchors dish out their headlines, I decided to do a double take on style and fashion and consulted again with my friend Oli Sara. As we all know, Oli is a fast-rising fashion and brand consultant and has dressed and managed some of the most relevant personalities both in pageantry and show business.  Only this time, I’d like to dip my fingers on the highly competitive world of social media influencing—the new breed of celebrities! Here’s what Oli’s got to say:

Our roads first crossed back in the mid-1990s as young, promising news reporters of the Star Network, ABS-CBN.  I was covering the Malacanang beat, with then President Fidel V. Ramos, while Mon Ilagan was our eye in the Philippine Senate.  We were then both small players in the big league, but with big dreams.  When I decided to leave TV for the corporate world sometime in 1997, Mon stayed on with the station until he got part of his dreams fulfilled—getting the chance to host the morning show and even sometimes pinch-hitting in the late-night primetime newscast then known as “PULSO.” I was sincerely happy for him, having seen how he persisted on his uphill climb that started at the very bottom as a production assistant in Radio Veritas as early as 1981.  That’s hardwork that paid-off.
