“This photo was taken in Bugallon, Pangasinan using Huawei Nova 3i. I took this photo of my niece in the middle of cornfield, complementing the red color of her dress with the green color of corn leaves.” – Daryl Salazar Our appreciation to Neutral Ground Reborn (NGR) (https://www.facebook.com/groups/neutralgroundreborn/). This photo was also chosen as NGR’s Photo of the Day (Week 43, Day 2) of Season 4 – 2020.

“I named this photo ‘The Farmer’ because what I see is a ‘salakot’ (hat) used by farmers to protect them from the heat of the sun. I tried this water droplet photography during the lockdown because I can’t go out to take pictures in some places so I came up with this. I was amazed by how water reacts by itself. Using a zoom lens and with the right focus, different details popped and surprised me. With a good interpretation and/or representation, you can turn a photo into art.” – Christian Basa (Dublin, Ireland)

“This was taken in August 2018. A week before that, I did low-key type of photos for a client. My colleagues saw those photos and asked me what light setup I used for this particular shoot, I showed them my setup and reminded them the importance of light direction in photography. Joy, who is also a photographer serves as the model. I don’t have any intention to use it in any competition. It took me two years before posting it for an online competition and eventually received some recognition. This image was taken to share my passion and knowledge in photography, hoping that my colleagues will be inspired to tell more stories through photographs. – Mary May “Placid” Matic

“We’re lucky to have moved to Sta. Rosa City from the asphalt jungle of Makati. Our house now is surrounded by verdant vegetation which thrives on an active creek located just outside our perimeter fence. Perhaps such condition makes our place habitable for different species of birds – Brown-throated Kingfishers, Collared Kingfishers, Bee-eaters, different types of sunbirds, Black-naped Orioles, Coucal, Magpie Robin, among others. For a camera enthusiast like myself, such is heaven sent. This prompted me to buy another camera suited for bird photography – Nikon Coolpix P1000 – which has served me well in photographing these birds. The tree where they usually perch is just right across our family room’s window (a no-brainer for me to mount my cam there). Nikon P1000’s focal length – 24mm to 3000mm – never misses a good shot. I’ve been exclusively using it almost every morning for birding and moon watching at night time; most specially during the lockdown where I couldn’t use my other DSLRs for outdoor photoshoots. I always shoot full-manual on RAW and auto ISO. My cam is mounted on Manfrotto tripod with a Benro Gimbal head. Exif: 1800mm, f/6.3, ISO 100. Taken on March 8, 2020, 9:42:59 a.m.” – Val Villanueva

“One of the quick getaways in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is spending time on the beach. There are a lot of beaches out here which are very accessible, relaxing and can offer many activities at the same time. This photo was taken from Mamzar Open beach, Dubai, UAE. In frame are two expats enjoying the hazy morning with scenic sunrise over the Sharjah municipality’s cityscape.” – Rosaline Baylosis

I also enjoy black-and-white images. However, I take all of my images in color using NEF (RAW) format and convert those I choose to black and white and enhance them through post-processing. – Nap Catacutan

“Trocadero is one of my favorite places to visit. Here you can see the Eiffel tower. Before, I used to hate every time it rains, but now it’s not since I saw the stunning image from the reflection.” – Jan Levent
