Soldier shot dead in Zamboanga del Sur

ZAMBOANGA CITY â€“ A soldier on furlough was gunned down in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur on Saturday, September 7.

A SOLDIER, Private First Class Mark Leo Jay Capute, was shot dead by a lone gunman in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur on Saturday, September 5. (Contributed photo by Ely Dumaboc)

Police identified the victim as Private First Class Mark Leo Jay Capute of the 44th Infantry Battalion.

Capute was shot in the head and died on the spot.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation and hot-pursuit operations against the gunman.
