CEBU CITY – A 73-year-old man allegedly slit his 70-year-old wife’s throat using a scythe in Oslob town, southern Cebu, on Friday night, September 6.
Major Jude Cebrero, chief of the Oslob Police Station, said the couple had an argument in their house in Barangay Upper Calumpang.
At the height of the argument, the suspect took a scythe and attacked his wife.
The victim had wounds in different parts of the body when she was found lifeless inside their house.
The crime was reported to the police on Saturday morning, September 7.
The suspect was arrested in Barangay Basak, Mandaue City on Saturday morning.
Police said the suspect borrowed P500 from a neighbor and fled aboard a motorcycle.
Lawmen recovered a scythe believed to have been used in the crime. The suspect faces a parricide case.
