35 awards on 35th year: Megaworld emerges as ‘most awarded developer’ in property tilt

Enjoying the distinction as the first-ever three-peat ‘Best Developer’ at the prestigious Philippines Property Awards, Megaworld took home the biggest number of recognitions, including as Best Developer in the Visayas and a sweep of the portfolio awards for hospitality, retail, and office segments.

The company also emerged as the “Best Lifestyle Developer” in the country, highlighting its leadership status as the pioneer of live-work-play developments in the Philippines.

On the night it marked its comeback on the prestigious property awards tilt where it became the Philippines’ first-ever three-peat Best Developer, property giant Megaworld had another huge awards haul after bagging 35 awards at the 2024 Philippines Property Awards by PropertyGuru.

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls took home the recognition for the “Best Operational Retail Portfolio” for its leading themed mall developments like Uptown Mall, Venice Grand Canal, and Eastwood Mall, among others. The award was received by Graham Coates, head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls.

Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, led by its managing director Cleofe Albiso (center), also took home big wins during the gala night, including a first-ever recognition for Grand Westside Hotel as the Philippines’ “Best Hotel Development”

The company, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, was named the “Best Developer for Visayas,” highlighting the immense impact of its township developments in the region. The company was also hailed as the “Best Mixed Use Developer” and the “Best Hospitality Developer,” while its subsidiary company Global-Estate Resorts, Inc. (GERI) was named this year’s “Best Lifestyle Developer.”

The entire Megaworld delegation celebrated the company’s comeback at the Philippines Property Awards, including big wins under the ESG and Sustainability categories.
